Today’s journey on the Camino Frances takes us from Carrion de los Condes to Terradillos de los Templarios, spanning approximately 16.4 miles (26.4 kilometers). We begin our walk at an altitude of 2,723 feet (830 meters) and ascend to 2,887 feet (880 meters) by day’s end. Along the way, we traverse through the quaint villages of Calzadilla de la Cueza and Ledigos, each offering a unique glimpse into the rural life of the region.

As we set off from Carrion de los Condes, our first destination for the day is Calzadilla de la Cueza, a considerable 10.5 miles (17 kilometers) away. Along this stretch, shade is scarce due to the sparse presence of trees. It’s crucial to ensure we carry ample water and provisions to sustain us throughout this route. Let’s prepare ourselves accordingly for the journey ahead, staying hydrated and equipped for the challenges of the Camino. Starting early is especially advisable during sweltering summer days.
